Palazzo Donn’Anna, the scene of numerous and terrible legends, was built in the sixteenth century on a pre-existing building known as La Serena, owned by the Marquis Dragonetto Bonifacio. It is said that the palace was the home of Queen Joan of Anjou who, apparently, had a macabre habit. He chose the most beautiful and fascinating fishermen in the Santa Lucia district and spent nights of passion with them, which promptly ended in tragedy. In fact, at dawn, he killed them, throwing them from the windows of the building, or from a trap door. And apparently the souls of these unfortunate young people still roam emitting terrible lamentations in the basement of the ancient dwelling.
